Robinhood has officially announced global accessibility for its crypto wallet for eligible Android users.
The company confirmed the roll out via a blog post on March 20.
Robinhood Wallet brings crypto to millions of Android users
With Robinhood Wallet now available to all eligible Android users, Robinhood is fulfilling part of its mission to bring crypto to the masses. Android accounts for 70% of the global market share of mobile OS and Robinhood Wallet’s accessibility on these devices means the company could reach millions of crypto users.
“Launching Robinhood Wallet on Android is a big step forward in our commitment to make crypto more accessible and seamlessly integrated into daily life for millions of people around the world,” Johann Kerbrat, Robinhood Crypto general manager, said in a statement.
“Whether you’re in Africa, Asia, South America, or somewhere else, Robinhood Wallet is your gateway to the future of finance, and the world of crypto and web3,” Kerbat added.
Robinhood Wallet launched globally to iOS users in 2023. Availability on Android app now opens access to users who previously joined the public waitlist.
Users of Robinhood Wallet can send, receive and store crypto on the self-custodial wallet. It supports major networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.The wallet also offers token swaps for users on Ethereum, Polygon and Arbitrum.
Wallet users can also discover trending tokens or access the latest cryptocurrency news directly from their Android app.
